When Everything Looks Fine on the Outside
From the outside, you're handling it. You show up, get it done, and rarely let anyone see you struggle. Inside, it's a different story. Your thoughts keep running, your body stays on alert, and the bar you set for yourself keeps moving.
You might notice:
Replaying conversations and second-guessing what you said
Feeling like nothing you do is ever quite good enough
Lying awake with a racing mind, or waking up already tired
Staying busy so you don't have to feel what's underneath
Feeling on edge, irritable, or disconnected from the people you love
Old experiences that still show up in your reactions today
Feeling like you have to hold it together for everyone else
You've been carrying a lot, and you've gotten very good at making it look easy.
Therapy is a place to stop performing, understand what's driving the pressure, and learn to meet yourself with more steadiness and less criticism.
Meet Jill Boyle, LMFT
I'm a trauma and anxiety therapist with more than 20 years of experience working one-on-one with adults. I've counseled on a naval base, in residential treatment for veterans, and in private practice. My approach is direct, warm, and rooted in the most evidence-based treatments for trauma, delivered in a way that feels human.
Services We Offer
Every client I see is an adult in individual therapy, so our time together is fully about you. My work centers on two areas:
Therapy for Anxiety, Perfectionism & Trauma
For high-achieving adults who look calm on the outside and feel anything but on the inside. Quiet the inner critic, work through what still weighs on you, and feel steady again.
Therapy for Military, Veterans & First Responders
Trauma-focused care from a therapist with 20+ years of experience in military and first responder mental health, including five years as a counselor on a naval base.
Here's How Therapy Works
Starting therapy doesn't have to be complicated. The process is clear, collaborative, and paced to fit your life.
-
Book a free 15-minute call online or send me an email. Share what's been hardest, ask your questions, and see if we're a good fit.
-
Our first sessions focus on what you want to change and how we'll get there, with a plan built around your goals and your real life.
-
Sessions become a space to process what you've been carrying, build practical tools, and notice real change between appointments.
Why Clients Choose to Work With Me
I believe people have a real capacity to change and grow. My job is to create a space where you feel heard from our first conversation, and then give you the tools and support to live in a way that feels true to who you are.
What you can expect:
20+ years of clinical experience across military, veteran, residential, and private practice settings
Certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and trained in Prolonged Exposure (PE), two of the most researched treatments for PTSD
Individual therapy for adults only, so every session is focused on you
Trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) for when stress follows you to bed
A flexible approach that blends structured trauma treatment with IFS-informed parts work and self-compassion
In-person sessions in San Diego and secure telehealth across California, Florida, Idaho, and South Carolina
A quick note: I work with adults in individual therapy only and don't offer couples or family therapy. If that's what you're looking for, I'm happy to point you toward a colleague who does.
